I have sqlServer express 2005, from a vs2005 install and 2005 installed from the install of an hp printer.
I re-installed my xp, ie, repair option, for my xp pro sp2.
The repair changed both services 'log on' from local system account with 'allow service to interact with desktop' to the nt authority/network.
after that neither service would start until I changed back to "Local System Account" with allow service to interact with desktop

I am wondering why the repair/re-install would change that?
Why does it pick the NT Authority Acct?
Why doesn't the service start with NT authority acct and give error 3417?
