Hi everyone,I've used SQL 2008 Express for a little while however soon all this will move to another machine that I will have to share with a group currently using SQL 2005. Initially 2005 and 2008 will run side-by-side then the other group will upgrade to 2008. I have a lot larger databases than the other guys however my stuff is not as critical. The other group are concerned that my users will initiate long running queries against my databases and bog the server down. Is there a way I could throttle back or give my queries (or the logon I use to query) a low priority? I have read something about Resource manager in 2008 but what about between 2005 & 2008 (also when the other group upgrade we will be using different instances so will resource manager work?)Thanks,Mark. |
