Are any of you old enough (and geeky enough) to remember online MUD's? (text based internet games.)

Heck, I've written Multi-User Dungeons, and maintained two of the very best.

Late 80's early 90's. I wrote the mud Genocide in 91' if you ever heard of it. Still running today as a matter of fact. www.geno.org

Yep I had my own tape of StarTrek that ran on VT52 on a PDP-1170. I was a student but managed to snag it from a logged on operators account. Operations mounted a tape for me supposing it was for a teacher. That game was like a virus for the College after that.

I wrote a program to take control of every terminal device in the school that was not logged in and simulate failed login attempts and record usernames and passwords. Security (what security?) seemed an after-thought in those days. For years I thought I invented that technique. Good thing I turned into one of the "Good Guys"

Yeah. Everybody thought that using program cards for the 029 was geeky until I figured out enough about HASP to be able to submit jobs from the HP-2000 and/or from the PR1ME 750... Man, that was livin' large in those days!
