I have created an application in vb.net 2003 which access a remote server hosting SQL 2005 Express. When i connect here i get access ok.
However when i connect via a clients site i get the error.
General network error. Check network documentation.
I have pinged the server ok and telnet on the correct port also from the client PC.
I installed
Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express 9.00.2047.00
And when connecting get the following error message...

Do you get a surface area config utility with express? It so check that it is configured to allow remote connections.

Can you post your connection string? Have you changed it to reflect the new environment?
