Now if only they could capture my fingerprint on the glass or the DNA from the saliva around the rim, they could cross-reference the main system and notify my wife how many beers I have had at happy hour . . . no, wait a minute . . . I don't want that.Would you tip less if you were drinking from one of these?Jay<O> |

Next step: add your credit card to the database. Then when you order a new one, they automatically charge your account (gratuity included). More than a few s will update the central DMV database and now your car won't start because you had one to many. Stay off the roads! If you do somehow manage to have an old car, when the cop pulls you over he doesn't even need to ask if you have been drinking (unless he wants to catch you giving false information. Wouldn't work over here in the UK unfortunately as we go and get our own beers from the bar anyway. Still they could have another one waiting for you i suppose. What happens if you want to try something different and before you know it another pint has arrived. |

Yeah, they're going to have to setup a queue of your favorite beers cross-referenced by bar and bar snack so they know which beer to bring next. This definitely sounds like a good place for a SQL stored procedure. How do I sign-up to be a beta tester?------------------------GENERAL-ly speaking... |

When the beer level is at 50% does the software think your glass is half full or half empty?? |

Surely it would be better if the glass sends a request for more when it is not quite finished. I don't like to be sat with an empty glass!============================Chairman of The NULL Appreciation Society"Keep NULLs as NULL" |

quote: "It sounds like a fun idea, but I don't think it would work in our pubs," said a spokesman for J.D. Wetherspoon, which runs over 500 pubs in Britain. "The tradition in Britain is to get up and go to the bar for a round of drinks, not to have a waiter bring beers to the table, no matter how quickly," he said.
Typical British Attitude. "It's the way it's always been done". Personally I hate having to get up out of my seat and wait at the bar for God knows how long, not catching the barman/woman's eye whilst slowly sobering up. I wanna sit. I want someone to bring me beer! |

jackstow: Don't be so stupid; it's a computer!!! It could work it out far more accurately than you could judge your drink quantity. How about this for an invention: Beer taps at your table... |

Wow Lee! I can't tell if you're being harsh or if this is another example of "British humor" and I don't "get it".Jackstow, nice philosophical point, just the sort of thing to get your head spinning with a few beers. Personally, I think this is an ideal place for a portal application server with personalization so you can select at what point you want your next beer to arrive, whether that's based on temperature, volume, or both. Then implement the brand selection, with a calculation of whether they are having to change the tap and how much delay that would cause in delivery, which might force a mid-evening brand-change. ------------------------GENERAL-ly speaking... |
