I live in Holland and charge $80 an hour (working freelance). I do SQL Programming with ASP.NET front-end. I do also the business-logic and designing. There are programmers who work freelance for +/- $100 an hour, but usually not more than that. This is the Netherlands, and I'm wondering what fee's are in other countries. please include a min and a max. No need to give the source of your information as I mententioned any neither.ThxHenri~~~SQL is nothing, writing it everything. |

In the U.S., and I'm sure elsewhere, it varies a great deal. In New York, you could probably bill $50-$60 minimum for a project, but that same project in Atlanta would only get $40-$45. And "SQL Programming with ASP.NET front-end" can mean any number of things; a small mom-and-pop video store database, or www.microsoft.com. There's a slight difference between the two. Not to mention the economy and the glut of programmers in the U.S. right now; the rates are down because there are tons of people willing to work for less. About 18 months ago $80/hour in NY was easy to get.You should always check out the job sites like Monster.com if you want an idea of rates, they're always the best indicator. |

In the Seattle area, I know that rates range from $25/hour for low to moderate experience to $125+/hour for very experienced SQL. This last is a rate that I saw over a year ago while the market was still hot, and it was the rate charged by a consulting services firm to the client. The actual developer got about half to 2/3 that amount. |

I've gotten recent two projects in the Dallas, TX area; first one $55/hr (for ASP & SQL) second $60/hr (just ASP). Both freelance with no pesky middlemen swiping a slice of my pie . I checked computerjobs.com salary survey for my area, in the general database system field, low range $12/hr ( !) to a high range of $125/hr. Justin |
