I receive several .xls files that I want to import to a generic table. I wanted to use a configuration XML document to pass the necessary parameters in (doc location, sheet name). Currently I am trying to use (in the Data Flow) an Excel Source object, then a Data Conversion object, finally an OLE DB Destination object. I simply want to do a straight dump of the data from the .xls columns into the generic table. For the formatting I want to convert everything to a string value. The .xls sheets will have differing numbers of columns and data types. Thanks in advance |

Ok I think you should have the same number of columns in your excel sheet as the destination table.Just prepare the Excel sheet to match the columns of the destination table. And then it`s easy :Use Excel source Data ConversionOleDB destination (where u specify the table where the data goes to)Good luck |
