Hi,

I have installed sql 2008 as a named instance. I already have default instance of sql 2005 on this server. I was hoping I will see a new sql server 2008 version sql server management studio, but I am not seeing new sql server management studio tool. I ran set up to see if I can install sql server management studion 2008 but I don't see anything there that I could install this tool. Can anyone please advise what could have went wrong in this set up.

Thanks

the new management studio shortcut in Programs looks very similar to the 2005 management studio.. are you sure you are clicking the right shortcut?

check if you have SQL 2008 installed in configuration manager.. you can plug in the cd and install only the client tools.
