3days ago i did a fresh inatall of vista then SQL Server2008 without internet connection. After abunch of updates from windows update i spot installations of SQL Server2005 and the compact edition (ENU).umm...Is that normal? why do i need the previous version when i have the latest and worst yet i have it istance as default in the configuration manager. You know... (MSSQL.1) as instance ID instead of (MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER). Now, installing the SP1 as become difficult first throught the windows update and despite several futile ttempts of manual installation i found my confidence bruised. Help! ...anybody?ummm... |

Most of the time I find that SQL Server 2005 compact edition was installed by Microsoft Office Business Contact manager. You will need to reinstall that software and specificy your already existing sql instance as the location for its database. Or just not use business contact manager. It is possible some other application is using it quickbooks or the like. |
