why not look up the documentation yourself? You seem to be asking questions that can be answered just by looking up the provided documentationCharlie===============================================================Msg 3903, Level 16, State 1, Line 1736The ROLLBACK TRANSACTION request has no corresponding BEGIN TRANSACTION |

Charlie: You seem to be answering questions by cut and paste. If you don't understand that folks might be looking for answers beyond the doc, perhaps you should keep your replies to yourself. I for one am curious to know what the backup / recovery differences are, from a DBA perspective. quote: Originally posted by Transact Charlie why not look up the documentation yourself? You seem to be asking questions that can be answered just by looking up the provided documentationCharlie===============================================================Msg 3903, Level 16, State 1, Line 1736The ROLLBACK TRANSACTION request has no corresponding BEGIN TRANSACTION

Mike:Please don't wrong our Charlie.I have seen many posts of him and he is giving very good solutions if someone has a detailed question/problem.But sometimes there are coming up question series that could be answered by repetition BOL.In this thread there is a context that is not visible with only this one thread.Look into srinivas other post and you can see why Charlie was answering like this.Recent topics: sql dba sql indexes master database crash the server shrink log file backup & restores backup locks parallelism No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |

And another thing Mike; I'm saying this as a friendly advice and not to mock you or anything, but it might not be the wisest thing to insult one of the regulars as one of the very first things you do as a rookie in this forum. You might be an MVP for all I know but giving $h1t like this to a respected member makes you real unpopular real fast.- LumbagoIf the facts don't fit the theory, change the facts. Albert Einstein |

If you consider srinivas.sql's other posts most are very simplistic that can and should be answered with a Google search and he rarely responds to any of the messages. I don't believe I have ever seen him actually reply to a single one. Although I am not sure why TC wastes the time with even a copy and paste reply. If he expects more than a cut and paste response I would suggest that he actually respond to the replies that he gets. there is no way of knowing if there is more to his question if there is no further dialog witht he OP. |

Hi MyUserID,I wouldn't normally brush someone off with a link to documentation (unless it was actually relevant to the question). However I'd got fed up with the quality of srinivas.sql's questions. You won't learn anything if you don't at least try and find out the answer yourself first.Welcome to SQL Team.Charlie===============================================================Msg 3903, Level 16, State 1, Line 1736The ROLLBACK TRANSACTION request has no corresponding BEGIN TRANSACTION |
