Hi there,I just installed SQL Server 2008 on a 64bit Windows 7 laptop. Something seems to have gone awry.I cannot connect to the database engine. And the only option on the connect pop-up box that has the name of my server underneath it is Integration Services. The database engine does not seem the recognise the name of the service. Is this weird? |

I installed the developer version. Not the express version.I have no idea whether the version was 64bit or 32bit. I assumed if 32bit, it should still run fine on the 64 bit system. |

I figured it out. Log file told the story. I was not writing the correct server name in the connect box.I still find it puzzling that it could not find my server with the "browse more" link. |
