I have restored a database onto my new laptop. It restored successfully but when I attempted to create a new DB diagram it came up with an error and suggested I go into Database Properties and set the owner to a user. I did this and straight away the whole DB went into recovery mode. The exact same happened when I followed the same procedure on another laptop. Why should this occur??

Did you restore it with NORECOVERY option?

If so it is waiting for you to restore additional files

You can tell it that you have finished / no more files with

RESTORE DATABASE MyDatabaseName WITH RECOVERY

Well it all installed successfully - it was only later when I attempted to create a new diagram and it said I had to set the owner of the DB.
