Hi,After some quite large processing in my DB (add/delete huge data), the Transaction log size has increased considerably. On executing DBCC SQLPERF(logspace), the log size displayed is 39489.8 MB and LogSpaceUsed is 96.23453%. I checked the size of .ldf file and it is 16.3 GB. So now I need to Truncate/Shrink the log file. A few queries along this line:1. What is the difference between Truncate/Shrink T-log file?2. How to Truncate/Shrink the T-log? 3. Is there any special precaution to be taken during the Truncate/Shrink action?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks & Regards,Hari. |
