Hi,I need some information or a link on administering a ms sql server 2005 vs administering as sql server 2008. My boss wants me to list the benefits of doing a maintaining administering a ms sql server 2008 course and explain how it will relate to ms sql server 2005. What has not changed from 2005 to 2008 from a administrative and maintenance standpoint I would do the sql server 2005 but it is not offered just the 2008 course is offered. Any help would be greatly appreciatedjeffsjunk@warp.nfld.net |

From an administrative standpoint, there won't be a lot different. SQL 2008 admin will cover a few features not available in 2005, like Resource Governor for example, but all of the concepts and almost all of the specific techniques covered will be the same. For you and your boss, the advantage of doing a SQL 2008 course is that it will make you more valuable to the company by keeping your skill set up to date. It will cover everything the 2005 course will, plus a few new things. |
