Our reporting servcies and databases for ssrs reside on different boxes. Can SSRS 2005 use SQL 2008 for its databases?

If anyone has done something similar what is the best way to get to SSRS 2008 when you have the Reporting and databases for reporting on seperate machines

thanks.

When you say "use sql 2008 for its databases" what are you referring to?
Do you mean as data sources?

SSRS uses 2 databases to store its info in. If we are currently using SSRS 2005 and our dbms is MS SQL 2005 we want to upgrade the DBMS to 2008. Can we leave the SSRS as 2005 and upgrade the backend to 2008?

Hope that helps.

SSRS 2005 databases (ReportServer and ReportServerTempDb) must use SQL Server 2005. Your data sources for the reports can use SQL Server 2008 or really almost any data source.
