 Transfer of logins & passwords from 2000 to 2005

Dear All,

I have to migrate from sql 2000 to 2005..hence i BACKUP DATABASE & RESTORE DATABASE in 2005.Now i have to transfer Logins & password from 2000 to 2005.so i followed the article "http://support.microsoft.com/kb/246133/" & as per the article i have executed the script in source & copied the output & pasted in destination 2005 & in Master DB i executed the output.

When i tried to login in 2005 im unable to login..it troughs an error..
Please let me know am i traveling in right path & also pls advice on this issues.

Hi tkizer,

Actually Logins are transferred from 2000 to 2005 but password are not transferred,hence im unable to login., Please advice

That script does transfer the passwords, so perhaps you can try it again.

please find the error below when i tried to login..
Message
Login failed for user 'ss\rav'. [CLIENT: <local machine>]
Error: 18456, Severity: 14, State: 11

Here's what I use instead of that script:
http://www.windowsitpro.com/article/query-analyser/sql-server-login-transfer.aspx

Make sure you delete the logins from the 2005 server first.
