I am currently running SQL 2008 management studio on a Windows 7 64bit machine. After a while a get (not responding) coming up when excuting something or even when I open a new query window. The memory usage starts to climb and I cant do anything. A few forums on the web have the problem but non end up with a solution.

What are you running in SQL Server when it happens?

Nothing particular. You can run something that takes a split second to run and you can get your results but you have to wait for SQL management studio to give you control again. Keep in mind that it does this when you open up a new query window as well which has nothing to do with the SQL server other than you are creating a link.

I have the same problem as indicated in the link above.
