I am recently laid off from my job and was introduced to SQL. I want to study and get certified in SQL Server 2008 Administration, any suggestions and or study habits I should implement? And is this field for the novice?

Thank you all.

So you're a pure Netwok guy.

Do you know what the term "Normalization" means?

I would say your best line would to be a pure Production DBA support guy, on call....

Tara: You need to get out of that job and into design and architecture

Great so I take it that the book featured in this link would be a good place to start.
