Congrats on making it to the finals Graz. Hope the Jayhawks don't find the same fate as the three other Big 12 teams that met up with Syracuse. I guess I can pull for Kansas now that my beloved Sooners are gone. Would much rather see a Big 12 team win the title.

Good luck!

Jeremy

Some sort of a fringe sporting event I think. I am lost too.

Not as in "sporting a fringe". But a game played on a fringe of...well society I guess

For all the non-US members, Graz is referring to his Kansas Jayhawks basketball team. In the US, they get the top 64 college basketball teams together at the end of their season and play a tournament. It is referred to in the US media as March Madness. The Big 12 is the conference that Kansas and Oklahoma (Sooners) play in.

Graz has been waiting a long time for Kansas to have another shot at the title. Kansas is know to have competing teams each year, but has under-achieved in the last few. The Sooners on the other hand have had decent teams and broke through last year with a Final Four appearance. Unfortunately, they bowed out in the Elite Eight this year. Syracuse is the team Kansas plays tonight in the finals. They have beat the top 3 teams in the Big 12, (Oklahoma State, Texas and Oklahoma) and now face the Big 12's top team Kansas.

Here in the middle of the US, professional sports are not as big as college level sports. Kansas is know for basketball, while Oklahoma is known for football (American).

Hope this clears things up a little.

Jeremy

Some day Roy will win one. Question now is: Will he leave to go to North Carolina? Any thoughts Graz.

So close, yet so far away (4 free throws). It is bad enough losing, but it is so much worse when your team plays horrible and loses. Sadly, I have seen this twice from the Sooners this season, the Missouri game and the Syracuse game. When you can't shoot better than 30% during a game, it is horrible.

I don't know. Everyone seems to have an opinion on Roy except me. I really have no idea. On one hand he hasn't denied anything. On the other he can't be happy with the way they treated Dougherty. Who knows. I just wish something would happen soon.
