iam new in sql server . i have backup file. there is no extension how to i know which type that backup

you can find the backup ty with headerinfoonly command

restore headeronly from disk='your backup file path'
in the output, if the backup type is 1, then it is full backup.
(and 2 for diff backup 5 for log backup i believe need to recollect)
