My Setup:- HP G62 laptop with i3 processor and 4GB of RAM- Windows 7 64-bit- MS-SQL Server 2008 R2 (Express Editon)- Laptop name: Oak- Database Server Name: SQLEXPRESSI am new at this. From what I have read, the Reporting Service should have been installed when I installed SQL-Server. But, I guess I did not install it - I guess."Reporting Services Configuration Manager" is available from my programs menu. But when I try to run it, it will not Find, or accept, any Server Name. When I connect to Management Studio, the server name is displayed as "OAK\SQLEXPRESS." The "Reporting Services Configuration Manager" will not accept that name, or any variation of that name. I get the error: "Report Server WMI Provider Error: Invalid namespace."Also, I am not sure what is meant by "Report Server Instance." |

I do not have an installation CD. I just downloaded SQL-Server Express. Maybe I could just re-run the installation application. |

Maybe this just cannot be done with the express version? I re-ran the installation application. I chose "New installation or add featrues to an existing installation." But I do not see anything like what I want. It looks like everything I can chose has already been chosen anyway, i.e.: "SQL Server Replication", "Management Tools - Basic", "SQL Client Connectivity SDK." |
