Hello all,

I very new to DBA stuff. Most of my experience has been just installing SQL Server. Well we are having a vendor install some databases for patient care and apparently my install was not sound.

They are telling me that the version of Analysis Services (1600) is not the same as SQL Database Engine (2531). Both need to be the same for what they are trying to do.

Does anyone have any clue how I can change or upgrade one of these?

We have Sql Server 2008 R2 but, I also have a disk for SQL server 2008.

Thanks in advance
Mike

Looks like sp1 hasn't been applied to analysis services
Did they not tell you this when they said they can't use it. I would ask them which version they have developed and tested against.
I think sp1 for v2008r2 is still ctp so you probably want to re-install without it.

Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.
SSIS can be used in a similar way.
