i have a db of size 93 Gb, there is one huge table with 200 million rows. if i move the table to a diffrent filegroup , will be database size get reduced. The reason im asking is the backups has been failing due to insufficent disk space. so trying to make the backup work. |

If I move my cupboard from one room to another room will the size of the cupboard get reduced? No.Look for a drive with more diskspace for the backup file. No, you're never too old to Yak'n'Roll if you're too young to die. |

I don't know about you, but whenever I have to move something that big, and I disassemble it, I always end up losing the hardware, and the instructions, and I hammer on it and glue it and duct tape it together, or try to, until I just give up and lay it on its side and PRESTO! new table. And it's smaller than the original, minus the extra pieces I throw away./stupid Ikea furniture |
