I ask because I have learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed the solutions and forum comments surrounding them that I would love to see more.Though I do imagine that it requires alot of time and effort on the administrators / moderators of the site which may or may not be available, but have posting any further readers challenges been considered. What happened to these? |

There should be a listing of "great threads" on this site. But choosing the threads is a challenge. Some of the shortest threads have been brilliant, occasionally the longest threads are filled with exchanges unrelated to SQL. |

Sam, Agreed...I never know when I am going to find my "pearl" but to your point regarding the selection, my "pearl" is not necessarily going to be yours. Although a "great threads" is certainly a great idea. Maybe the "Yak Squad" could choose threads and let the community vote or something. Moreover, Is the thought here that there is nothing new under the sun regarding SQL challenges? at least concerning the brightest minds comprising the SQLTeam community. |

I too enjoy reading the responses to the Readers Challenges. It does however take some time to determine a winner for these. I am sure after the ribbing robvolk took over the time it took to determine the winner for the last challenge, he is probably not to anxious to volunteer for that duty again. Too much ribbing and you get a title like mine! |

Reader challenges do take quite a bit of time on our part. It's also pretty hard to find a challenging SQL problem that can be explained easily. That said, I'd be happy to try one again. I'll need people's help to find the problem. If you come across something interesting, send it to me and we'll take a look.===============================================Creating tomorrow's legacy systems today. One crisis at a time. |
