I got so many stored procs written in QA's default font. 10 pt, courier new.

I changed it to Ariel Bold last night and like the visiblity much better. But the indentation (tabs) get all messed up. Ariel seems to *just* come out to the first tab, so the existing tabs go another tab space, and -- get the idea? I'm not gonna go there. Too much reformatting of existing code needed.

So I was wondering. Anyone out there think they've got a QA font setup worth mentioning?

Maybe I'll revisit this tonight and tweak the tab size.

Courier is a mono-spaced font. That's what makes all the difference. You won't get perfect indentation with other fonts.

So. Nobody here uses MS Comic Sans Serif? And this is because *all* the other fonts are proportional?

Perhaps the new wave after mono-spaced and proportional fonts will be dynamically changing font spacing. Your eyes will need to follow the SQL as it moves back and forth on the display.

Monotype font = all letters/characters are the same width. In arial an m is about three times as wide as an i and therefore you get the messed up indentation. Just wanted to clairify what mohdowais said...

You're not a real SQL programmer until you set QA to run in Wingdings.

Hey, let's get into an argument about the best development font. Then we can get into :

vi vs Emacs
Tabs vs Spaces (for Stoad)
Where to place the curly brace

I'm a big fan of Lucida Console. It's a monospace font so it shouldn't cause any problems. I also find it to be much more readable than Courier. I originally just used it for presentations but I switched full-time a while back.

Lucida Console is much more reasonable.

Thanks...
