I am attempting to do a simple in place upgrade from SQL 2005 (Enterprise, SP2, 32-bit) to 2008 and I keep getting an error saying:"An attempt was made to install (or update) SQL Server Native Client on a computer where SQL Server Native Client is already installed, and where the existing installation was from an MSI file that was not named sqlncli.msi."I've checked and we always install from CD so this error message seems misquided. Has anyone come across this message before or offer some insight into what it might imply?I thought about simply uninstalling the SQL Native Client but that impacts the two main SQL services and would seem to make an in place upgrade impossible.=======================================Men build too many walls and not enough bridges. -Isaac Newton, philosopher and mathematician (1642-1727) |
