i have admin right, but i can't see the activity monitor tool.
how can i add it?how can i check that it's installed?

it's in the toolbar, not in the object explorer in SSMS 2008. It's the icon that looks like a graph. why not just use sp_who2 though

edit: can also right-click server name in object explorer then click activity monitor in context menu
