Hi,Is there are a way of changing the name of the locally installed SQL 2008 Express Server? I have downloaded Express version and want to play with it and see what its like. The only annoying thing so far I found is that I could not install full Adventure Works DB purely because my Full Text Search Deamon wasn't running. When I had a look at the services running it wasn't even listed, so I am a bit confused about the whole Express situation...Thanks |

Full Test is a tottally seperate feature when you install SQL. I dont recall if it installs by default. You can install multiple instanced of sql2008 and remove them later.I have never tried to rename an instance, and I dont think I would. |
