| I am doing a new named Instance install on SQL 2005 and I would like to make the Server COllation SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_ASWhich choices do I check on the screen to get SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS ???? |

CI means Case InsensitiveAS means Accent Sensitiveand you choose from SQL collations, not Windows collations.

| so during the SQL install I'm thinking I choose Latin1_General and click on accent-sensitive (assuming that case-insensitive is the default) but where does the CP1 come in? |

| drop down box is called collation designator and sort order. Latin1_General_CP1 is not a choice.. only Latin1_GeneralChoices for the check boxes are: Binary, case-sensitive, Accent-sensitive, Binary code-point, Kana-sensitive, Width-sensitive |

| if its any consolation we got into a complete mess trying to choose the collation for SQL 2008 - given that all we knew was the actual collation name, and there was nothing in the install that actually told us what we were getting in the same "language" such that we could understand it unambiguously!! |
