I suspect "Beannachtam na Feile Padraig" should possibly have come out like "Beanachtai la Fheile Padraig"....(which I think is Greetings of St.Patrick Day) and excuse my spelling in case it's wrong as well (I do think mine is closer though)....but I've had no interest in the language since Leaving Certificate days all of 19years ago.Irish as spoken by BBC newsreaders doesn't transfer too well to the written word. |
