Something that setbasedisthetruepath said today set me a-thinking quote: Generally speaking, SQL Server allows you to reference objects using a four-part naming convention:[server].[database].[owner].object
... so you can run an SQL statement on several servers/databases at the same time. Anyone know of the largest/most geographically distant example of such a statement? Maybe here at SQLTeam we have the resources to create the biggest, most distant, most utterly useless multiple table join of all time. Guiness book of records here we come..! |

Well, one end will have to be me. Adelaide (South Australia) has to be about as far from anywhere as you can get. I'm actually talking to you by rubbing two sticks together and pedalling hard...--I hope that when I die someone will say of me "That guy sure owed me a lot of money" |
