I am doing some research on IO in SQL Server and was wondering if any of you knew whether there were any major changes between 2005 and 2008 that I should consider when reading Inside SQL Server 2005: The Storage Engine? I'm really only interested in a couple chapters. It looks like there is a lot of filler informtion in the book. Chapters 1 - 3 seem like the belong in a SQL Server 101 type book, not one at an internals level.===http://www.ElementalSQL.com/ |

There weren't many changes. Some, for things like filestream, but not major.Consider getting SQL Server 2008 Internals. Excellent book.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
