You can use the Database Mirroring Monitor in SSMS. Right click on the mirrored data, Tasks, Launch Database Mirroring Monitor.

If you want to do it programmatically, then you need to implement the mirroring alert which will write to the Event Log.

select * from sys.database_mirroring
helped me a lot. thanks a lot for quick help...

one user (with whom we configured) got expired. now mirroring is Off. how can i change the user without breaking mirroring?

Mirroring and users aren't related to each other.

what is the difference between mirroring_state_desc and mirroring_saftey_level_desc? it is showing off to me
