Hi AllI'm trying to install SQL Server 2008 standard edition in a computer running window's 7 and I keep getting errors, it it positble to install windows 2008 standard edition in Windows 7thanks in advance |

Just checked the documentation.It's mentioned for R2 but not for pre R2.I've loaded the dev version on windows 7 (that doesn't get a mention either) so I'm a bit surprised it doesn't work.It should tell you specifically when it does the initial checks.What sort of errors do you get?==========================================Cursors are useful if you don't know sql.SSIS can be used in a similar way.Beer is not cold and it isn't fizzy. |

I didn't think Standard Edition could be installed on a desktop OS. I know the Enterprise Edition cannot be installed, for sure.The developer edition is the one designed to be installed on a desktop OS and used for development purposes.If you are only installing the client tools, then you can use any edition's installation.What errors are you getting?Jeff |
