Hi All

I'm trying to install SQL Server 2008 standard edition in a computer running window's 7 and I keep getting errors, it it positble to install windows 2008 standard edition in Windows 7

Just checked the documentation.
It's mentioned for R2 but not for pre R2.
I've loaded the dev version on windows 7 (that doesn't get a mention either) so I'm a bit surprised it doesn't work.
It should tell you specifically when it does the initial checks.
What sort of errors do you get?

SSIS can be used in a similar way.

I didn't think Standard Edition could be installed on a desktop OS. I know the Enterprise Edition cannot be installed, for sure.

The developer edition is the one designed to be installed on a desktop OS and used for development purposes.

If you are only installing the client tools, then you can use any edition's installation.

What errors are you getting?
