hello everybody, iam unable to restore database from my local disk. i get this error 'The media family on device 'D:\Practice.bak' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family.RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally'.iam using sql server 2008. |

The backup file is damaged. Get a new backup(or you're trying to restore a higher version to a lower version, but that gives different errors these days)--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |

Then it was damaged in the copy to your machine or you're trying to restore to a lower version than the backup was taken on.--Gail ShawSQL Server MVP |
