Hi Experts
i've a old dump with me of sql server 2008 R2, and i copied to the required server and installed successfully. but the probelm once the istallation is done, the services are not starting, and stating that sccess denied.

i'm trying with the service account, even then i'm getting the same error. i'm thinking there is some problem with the dump.

while installing, it is showing as enterprise edition, and there is another radio button, which has another three options as evaluation edition, express edition, express edition with advanced features.

not sure how my DBA downloaded (i'm new here) previously. is there any time period that the dump will work only till this time? and for installation, service is running, but not able to connect.

pretty new to 2008 R2.

please guide me.

Open the latest error log, read from the end backwards, it'll say why SQL failed to start. If you're unsure, post the entire thing here.

How would that help if the service won't start? You have to get the service started before you can connect.

His post is very confusing then because it says services are not running too.

We still need the error to help him.
