Check point process flushes all the dirty pages to data files.Does this include those pages which are currently not committed.The data which we can see using lock hints like no lock etc.Appreciate you all in advance.

Yes. It flushes all dirty data pages to disk.

Can you please tell me if the log writer thread writes logs to the disk from log buffer continuously?If it is yes then what is the significance of the checkpoint in terms of log? Appreciate your input.

Not continuously. There are a number of things that will cause the log buffer to flush to disk. Not sure I understand what you're looking for re second question.

Well my first question was about data cache.This one for log buffer?Can you let me know what are the factors that cause it to flush? I am not sure if this is same for log buffer and data bufer hence the question..thanks in advance.

No. Totally different behaviour between the two.

I think (please search and double check), reaching a max size (60kB?) and a transaction committing are the two main things that force a flush of the log buffer
