Hello;I am interested to know what RAID settings your sql server should use. I am more concerned with performance than redundancy. I am just looking for a general idea of what people use.We are setting up our servers on a new san that was just installed. The server will have windows server 2008 & sql server 2008 dedicated to sharepoint db's. The server will be part of a small sql cluster once configured. It seems like raid 1+0 is the best for performance but I also see where factors like the raid controller design, cache & speed of hard disk becomes a factor. We are also looking at raid 50.thanks.r&r |

Thats not very good advice without an explanation. I would rather the OP read the links and make up their own minds than blindly follow that piece of advice. |
