I just noticed this today .... wow, front page! not bad for 5 months ...

At my rate of posting I'll be caught up with Rob sometime in 2045. We'll also be enjoying the rants of member "Crespo364728" by that point.

Hey! That's cool! Don't worry ... Crespo will be banned (again) long before he gets to version 364728! Even if we count by 24's.

Been at the site since I think November. I have learned SOOO much since then it is hard to comprehend.

It's funny, half the stuff I learned was from reading posts and seeing other techniques (especially nr, page47, robvolk, arnold frib* -- you guys do some amazing work) and the other half from answering user's questions and figuring things out myself.

Now is that the best way to learn or what ??

As Sitka once posted, it's truly sqlTEAM !

* don't mean to slight anyone who I didn't mention, but for me personally I have learned quite a few cool techniques from these guys.

oh yeah -- and brymol's concatenation UDF that I always refer to ... I'm a big fan of that one!

Way to go Jeff...

You and I have spared(sp?) a bit in the past, but it was all respectful (I think) ... I've got nothing but respect for you and I've cut-and-pasted a few things from your posts straight into my toolbox ...

Keep 'em coming....

I agree, this site is almost addictive...that is if you like to learn something new every day..and I hate the word, but synergistic (sp?) is ABS() the rule here (less Crespo of course, I really try avoid doing that, but he FU'ed me yesterday...love to meet in a pub one day..love to here what he'd have to say face to face)

Jay --
The respect is mutual!

As for trees ... I have something in the works I am going to post in a week or so hopefully .... a "new" model ???

Sneak preview:
* Querying is extremely fast (no LIKE's or BETWEEN's), you can go up and down the tree effortlessly ...

* moving nodes and entire families is easy ....

* inserting and deleting nodes is effortless as well ...

The key is a helper table ...

Wait 'n see ....
