Alright Sam.

No responses yet so I thought it would be a good idea to keep your company!

No snow here in the UK but plenty of bright cold days so you never know!

Have a good one mate.

Safe!

This is not a thread filled with intrigue is it?

I got no sympathy from anyone in the tropics, I expected some scoffing by Canadians.

What's needed is politically correct controversial subject matter. There's a challenge and an oxymoron.

You expect sympathy?! How about sending some of that snow down here, mate? The clouds have been teasing us for weeks now, every morning looks overcast, foreboding, etc but hell, it just won't rain!!

But if we don't get real snow, we can still ski - we just create some of our own!

Brett - where do you ski up north? Vermont?

Wanna plan a SQLTEAM Euro / Mideast ski trip in 2005? Warm up in the UAE indoor ski slope. Shop a little in the mall, then off to the Italian Alps.

I snowboard in Southern California where snowfall is limited (a lot of the snow depth comes from man-made snow). I've been twice already and gonna head up again once one more run opens, should be any day now. I'm surprised that in areas where snow is more common during the winter that the resorts wouldn't already be completely open since the ones here are over 75% open.

Not cold enough..plus you've got MUCH higher elevations...

And Sam, there's a thought...maybe a sqlteam ski team...east and west coast chapters...

Lots of benefits for groups of 20+

Some clubs even purchase ski houses...hmmmmmmm

What's the elevation like over there? Where I go, the base is at 7,000 feet. Is that high?

I'm in for one on the east coast as long as I don't have to travel more than 8 hours in my car. Mammoth Mountain is considered to be the best on the west coast and is about a 6 hours drive for me.

You'd fly in to Logan...everything is 3 hours or less...

But a west coast girl boarding the east?

I mean it's quaint and all, Stowe, Mad River, Sugarbush..Not to mention Killington...how many layers of thermals you got?

Know how to board on boiler plate?

Don't get me wrong we have our good days...and it's been a great start...but...

Do we allow international training facilities? While I'm located in the Seattle area (and we have good stuff like at Crystal Mountain) I'm perfectly happy to do my practicing up at Whistler in B.C. (Canada)

I'll be a Jay Peak the last week of January. 182" so far this year at Jay!

I haven't been yet this year, but I picked up a new stick. Neversummer Legacy, Nidecker Pro 800 bindings and Northwave Legend boots. I'm looking forward to giving the new gear a try. The mid-atlantic region doesn't offer much more that tiny 600' ice hills ...
