Well .. my fellow .net developer tried to use the reporting services with OLAP services but it didnt work out as expected. The Support team from microsoft provided us with an idea to use a linked server for OLAP but it was an idea I had already played around with. So I didnt like it that much.

Well, hope microsoft comes out with some better support for OLAP in reporting services.

Yeah, from what I remember the Analysis Services support was not gonna really shine until Yukon is released.

Anyway, I'd rather tie my hands behind my back and smash my face against the keyboard using Reporting Services, than to use Crystal Reports in any manner.

I'm with you on that Rob.

Had to deal with a crystal report interface for yellow freight

God what a mess.

Well the CDs are on backorder, what a shocker.

I'm still waiting for Mickeysoft to give a presentation on Reporting Services somewhere around DC.

Myself and a colleague downloaded and installed the trial version yesterday. We currently use Business Objects as a reporting tool and we have been given the task of evaluating this product. Haven't used it much yet cos it takes about 3 hrs to install. I'm convinced though that it would be way better than Business Objects.

What I can say so far though is that the 1 instalation seems to work OK, but the other seems to have a few problems.
