Dot Net Rocks is a streaming radio talk show for .NET developers that runs once a week. It's fairly goofy but they do get some good guests on occasionally. The current episode features an SQL Server MVP and author named Tony Bain. Tony lives down in my part of the world and I've heard him speak before on optimisation strategies and query processor internals, which is what I think he is talking about in this episode (I haven't listened yet).

Might be worth checking out at http://www.franklins.net/dotnetrocks/

Skip to about 33 minutes if you want to get to the actual interview.

Second thoughts, this is probably not going to be a huge benefit to anyone here, he is covering basics of SQL Server performance for the .NET developer audience.

The things covered are answered here every day.

We could have Damian and a few others host their own show.

In a Radio Announcers voice.

And still your best source of news on the technology front.
WSQL Radio at 100FM on your Dial.
ALLLL SQL ALLLL the Time.

I still think Microsoft should Pay the Top 50 posters on this site. The people here are 10 times better than their "call and pay" Tech Support.

Our next caller on 100 SQL FM is from Podunk, Arkansas. Caller, you're on the air:

Hello ?

Yes caller, go ahead please.

Hello ? Am I on ? <Maw! Quiet them chiken! I'm on the phone!>

Yes. Go ahead please.

I have an SQL question for Damian. But first, I'd like to say I love listening to 100 SQL FM radio. It's my favorite radio station and I listen to it all the time. We wish Damian would play less of that fancy schmancy Australian rock. It's almost like it's part of his family or something.

Thank you. Go ahead please.

Yes. My question is: Can someone please explain where the term "Relational Division" finds it's roots? Seems like a confusing borrowing of a term to me. Should'a been named "Universal Quantifier" if you ask me. Now that makes some sense. We know about "Relational Division" here in the mountains. Why our Relations have been dividing here fer generations, and we keep getten back together and dividing some more. But back to my question, I've got a set of chickens and a set of coops, and Marth's trying to find the chickens that's been in all the coops.....

Thank you caller. We're going to stop you there and take a break.

I'm with Jim. I'd be happy with an MVP or something. That would be nice.
