I have a theory that 'geeks' have the same likes and dislikes so I've devised a quiz, the more points you get the more of a geek you are considered to beThe number in backets at the end of each statement is the number of points you gain or lose for a positive answer to each question1) For each computer you have at home (+1)2) If you have a network at home (+1) if it's wireless get another another point for each access point you have3) For each OS you have running at home (+1) (including any in bits) (if any of these were built by you get an extra point for each one)4) each server OS gets +25) For each copy of SQL Server you have at home (+2), if it's a legal copy (+4)6) For each black T Shirt you possess (+ 1)7) For each pair of (non designer ) Jeans you own (+1)8) For each Rock/Heavy metal band you have seen live (+2)9) For each girl you kissed since you were a teenager (-1) and if she never spoke to you again (+1)10) For or each girlfriend you have had (-1) unless they lasted less than a week in which case (+1)11) For each PDA you have ever owned12) For each smartphone you have ever owned13) If you synch you smartphone to your PDA (+1) and if you use Bluetooth to do it (+2)14) One point for each level of RAID you have on each home computer15) for each console that you have ever owned (+1)16) if you play multiplayer games (+1)17) If you read Sci-fi (+2)I think my score is well into the 30's or possibly higher. Anyone else prepared to own up?steveSteve no function beer well without |

What about seeing the same band multiple times?) I'll go with Tara's answer of 20, but it may be low.9) For each girl you kissed since you were a teenager (-1) and if she never spoke to you again (+1) -12 (These are the ones I can remember)10) For or each girlfriend you have had (-1) unless they lasted less than a week in which case (+1) -611) For each PDA you have ever owned 112) For each smartphone you have ever owned 013) If you synch you smartphone to your PDA (+1) and if you use Bluetooth to do it (+2) 014) One point for each level of RAID you have on each home computer 015) for each console that you have ever owned (+1) 316) if you play multiplayer games (+1) 117) If you read Sci-fi (+2) 015! Not too bad even with the rock concert thing.Edit: (I just remembered 1 that never spoke to me again So I guess I'm at 16.)-Chadhttp://www.clrsoft.comSoftware built for the Common Language Runtime. |

Just noticed a mistake, the bit at the end of q3 starting with (including and in bits) should be at the end of question 1.I'm a bit suprised at some of the answers so far, is it only me who is geeky enough to buy smartphones and use a PDA and yes you guessed it I use Bluetooth occasionally to allow them to communicateI've also asked some network admins to complete it, I'll post results here when I get themsteveSteve no function beer well without |

I have O/S's in multiple languages ... tell me I don't have to count each one?4) each server OS gets +2Oh no! I don't install Workstation O/S in case I want to trial Exchange or SQL on the box ...5) For each copy of SQL Server you have at home (+2), if it's a legal copy (+4)Ah, at last. I'm OK on the legal bit ... but there are 6 boxes with SQL on them :-(Do I have to score more points for having an Enterprise License on my home computer? :-(6) For each black T Shirt you possess (+ 1)Hah! Null Point!7) For each pair of (non designer ) Jeans you own (+1)Ordinary jeans? You mena like Levi - or is that designer? Jesus I must be getting old ...8) For each Rock/Heavy metal band you have seen live (+2)I went to school with the lead from Iron maiden - that's got to score high :-(9) For each girl you kissed since you were a teenager (-1) and if she never spoke to you again (+1)That will help. Hooray!13) If you synch you smartphone to your PDA (+1) and if you use Bluetooth to do it (+2)You Gads, that would be too sad. :-) (Luckily noone else seems to be admitting to that either ...)14) One point for each level of RAID you have on each home computerOh Bother said Pooh!15) for each console that you have ever owned (+1)EVER? That's like trying to remember how many girls I kissed since my teens. And I'm just talking about "consoles", not monitors :-(16) if you play multiplayer games (+1)17) If you read Sci-fi (+2)You threw these in to humour me, didn't you? :-(Kristen |

I don't she is in the Catering industry. It's not that bad though.I scored bad on the Girlfreind thing -12I scored high on the Black T-Shirt's 7Rock Bands Live - Only U2 and LIVE (Not too many Good bands have come out here - although they are starting to now REM(The best band in the world will be here in March - I'm there).I don't have much in the Line of PC's and Gagdgets at home (I see too much of them at work)Don't laugh now - I have a PentiumII with Windows 95 and an instalation of VS6 (No SQL server instalation) - now can you see why I scored badly. I'd rather spend money on Beer, Sporting Goods and Surfing Trips (That's not surfing the net - you geeks).Duane. |
