i hate to say it, but this is the year. they are a great team, they have all the components, the yankees are suspect. it looks good. way different feeling than last year's team. GO SOX!- Jeff |

So, it seems, the date is set....Everyone says...go with the team with better pitching...Wait...wasn't that last series?Maybe the BoSox could use some Botox to beef up their batting?Who knows....it'll be inetresting week or so....Brett8-) |

Without looking it up, guess which team scored more runs this year -- the Sox or the Yankees ?- Jeff |
AL Batting Year To Date Sortable Stats Team GP AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI AVG TB SLG% Boston Red Sox 162 5720 949 1613 373 25 222 912 .282 2702 .472 New York Yankees 162 5527 897 1483 281 20 242 863 .268 2530 .458
Sox have the edge in every category, except for Home runs .... very surprising, but true. they've score over 50 runs more than the yankees this season, more 3b's, almost 100 (!) more doubles. fenway plays a factor in this, of course. ..but the sox are in good shape. Of course, the above doesn't measure clutch hitting, which the yankees do very well, but the sox aren't too shabby with clutch hits either.I think the Sox will win in 6 games .... superior starting pitching .- Jeff |

yikes .... schilling might be in trouble, not sure he will be able to pitch effectively in this series (gulp). big game tonight .. let's see what Pedro can do.some thoughts:1) at ESPN.COM, during the game, 75% of the people indicated they are rooting for the Sox2) I enjoyed the star wars intro -- it was well done (did you see it?)3) Moose looked awesome until the 7th inning. thank God they took him out. 4) GIve the sox tons of credit to come back after getting NO hits for 6 innings and make it 8-75) The umpire screwed sox pitchers on at least 10 strike callsTonight will be C R A Z Y !- Jeff |

Seeing as though - it's wondered on to soccer - I thought I'd post a confirmation type question here.I was told many years back that Asociation Football (SOCcer), got it's name from the SOC in ASOCiation - does anyone know if there is any truth in that rumour?Besides that - the problem with Baseball and Soccer is - It's Just Not Cricket!!!Duane. |
