A few days ago, I noticed an article in the paper on a new search engine that would display search results graphically, and clustered by topic. For example searching for "yeast" would clump results on yeast genetics in one graphic circle, while another circle would have bread recipes.Anyway that was the yeast of my problems.Did anyone else read this article or know the URL of this search engine? |

read something myself. don't think it's search engine, i thought it was a reporting tool. I think it works with hyperion essbase olap cube's. I followed a link (which i don't have anymore) and it looked interesting. |

Ah, www.mooter.com is what you are looking for. That site has been around for a couple of years now...not new by internet standards There's another search engine, which is suspect is owned by the same company, that uses flash to cluster the results www.kartoo.com . Happy clustering!OS |

Mooter.com (did anyone else read this differently or is it just me ) and kartoo.com are both good examples of clustering search engines. Neither renders the GUI I saw in the paper which seemed to use overlapping circles (sets) to contain related groups. I was interested in finding out if clustered search results would be a more useful presentation. My first impression after searching a few keywords on hooters.com mooter.com left me underwhelmed with the clustering result set. It seems like there are fixed clustering names in the search engine, and if a pertinent category isn't hardcoded in the list, it won't render in your search results. |
